The best place to get information about Switzerland

Die Schweiz im Zweiten Weltkrieg

A short video I made showing Switzerland during World War Two.We have been highly undercredited for our roles in world growth, and we should rightfully be known for everything we've done. We are the longest lasting, and most powerful democracy and milita in the world but the world doesn't know that. Here's my part in teaching the world the importance of Switzerland. This video was made by me, please don't copyright or steal someone elses work. Have honor in yourself. Some ideas and inspirations were from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... So credit to that maker!Note: Yes this video shows the "pros" of how Switzerland survived WWII, and I wouldn't be surprised if the government did give money to the Axis and hold their money and god knows what. The information I used was all in print. Books, trustable sites; I made -nothing- up. I am a very proud Swiss and as it stands not many people know anything about Switzerland. I myself have lived in the US for about 8-9 years now and never learned Swiss history in school or anything. Everything I know is self-taught. I've read books on the topic and done reseach just for fun because I care about history, and I care about my country. I welcome any comments but please be aware that this video is educational and ment to show that the Swiss people did unite during those dark times and endured for their survival and that of their, my, nation.Over 10'000 views! : )Over 25'000 views! :DOver 50'000 views!!! :D (November 1st 2011)Thank you very much! Enjoy the video!Hopp Schwiiz!

The reality is that Switzerland would fall in the end if all the Allied nations fell. Hitler was spending most of his resources fighting the bigger enemies since he knew they were the one's that could of attacked and sustained a continual fight without exhausting all their resources. Switzerland was not in a position to be a direct threat to Germany so they were left alone.

Nice video! I've always been fascinated with that a tiny portion of Europe remained unoccupied, while the entire continent fell to the Nazis. The German's strength was their mechanized units & they would have been useless in the Swiss Alps. The Luftwaffe would have bombed nothing but mountain rock & the Swiss would have emerged unscathed from their network of underground facilities. The German's only option was infantry fighting uphill & meeting their absolute ruin. They weren't dumb & moved on

The account is a testimony to Swiss ingenuity, thorough preparedness & cunning in using the natural terrain to their overwhelming advantageGreat piece of history!
