Val-de-Travers is in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland and extends from Lake Neuenburg across the Jura all the way to the French border. Here is where absinthe or«green fairy» is produced which was prohibited for over 90 years until 2005. Now you can purchase the famous drink created by the 2 sisters that sold it as a medicinal elixir. Also here the ham cooked in asphalt is a culinary speciality of the region. Also they produce sparkling wine. But I would say the main attraction is the beauty of the landscape.
