I quit wotlk at the turn of patch 3.2, the game was just getting way too easy and dumbed down too far. I haven't played cata so I can't really criticize current raids, but I see your point of allowing more people to gear up. SSC, TK, and BT were never raided cuz a majority of tanks were geared with karazhan epics and the dps was sub-par, but isn't gear an accurate reflection of skill level? I wouldn't want a retard as a MT even though though he's geared.

the game is now functioning so that players can obtain up to date gear more easily, and be able to do the new encounters. Blizzard wants all players to have a shot at the raids they make, and thats why they have the valor points system that allows players to get geared outside of raids. Back in tbc you had emblems, but its not the same at all. People get better, addons improve.. but the encounters are just as hard as they used to be, they just changed the playstyle a bit.

lolwut, I'd have to disagree. When Wotlk hit, raiding took a step back to the short bus. At least on my server, barely anyone was even raiding SSC during season 3/4 arena. Black Temple was only completed by a few guilds and I don't even think Sunwell was fully done by any more than 2 or 3 guilds.
