excuse me can you explain me how is the tail rotor activated? is there a transmission between the main and the tail rotors or is there something like a little electric motor?

You guys must be blind,It has a swash plate and tailrotor mid boom, If it was any good,It wouldn't change hands so much.

You are right you don't have any torque and the tail rotor works only on demand when you need to turn but with a vane you can do the same to direct the down wash air to any side to make the turn

have no torque, right? so, why have tail rotor?

is it a tilt spindle head like gyrocopters as I dont see any swashplate. I see the cyclic-lever connected directly to the top head. so it is a direct- tilt- hub like a gyrocopter BUT with a seperate collective system

yes your right. sorry i didnt see the rotor head part...
tecaeromex (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Wrong, this helicopter HAS a collective pitch control with a perfect autorotation capability you can't get in ANY traditional helicopter because the rotor is free from any clutch or transmision and the mass inertia at the tips makes this helicopter so safe that you can actually hover in autorotation before the inertia slow you down.
davidandrewmarchant (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
not collective pitch , its a fixed pitch.. the collective lever is used to increase the rotor speed.. i think i will stick to traditional helicopters... lol

This is amazing, just what I imagined 20 yrs ago the fly commuter transport would evolve into. We only need a super computerized traffic control system to make sure the idiots don't crash into each other and no more traffic jams on the highways.

I dont get it does it have cyclic collectiv pitch |
