I'd like to see this place for myself one day. My blood is really too thin to say I'm part this or part that but at least seeing the place where my line originated would be nice. People can trace they're name's back to countries but few can trace it back to where it really began.

@drunktarutaru My family from Brienz would confirm that story. We share a common heritage.

Fun ride. Wonderful place to tour! We stayed with family in Brienz.

Even the twenty minutes of the two video's is pretty long. This train just keeps on going up until you think its going to fall off the edge of the world. Makes Snowdon look like a molehill. (hence the different gearing)A really well done hand held video too. Makes me want to go.

At least you're guaranteed steam traction. At Snowdon you might end up with one of the diesels both ways, and they sound like over-worked construction plant.

beautiful place!

I read that the train doesn't stop long and people only ride it to get to Rothorn. I think Planalp's history only means something to Abplanalps hehe. But its nice to see what the area looks like. |
