Couldnt we bring P.T boats back? Cheaper, and yet you still get the same speed out of them, and they have more fire power overall. Remove the torpedo tubes, and arm them with other weapons? But, I saw one of the vessels get launched, truley amazing engineering, to get a vessel, 400ft long approximently, to do 50+ knots is unbelivieable. Most pirates would flee seeing one of the vessels after them.

@kenfo0 Your not going to get a zodiac or helo to go from the USA to the Gulf of Aden. You need to deploy from a local (sea) base (ship) in the local area. In your last post you were complaining about the cost of the LCS (read back), but the LCS is a lot cheaper ship at $450M than either a Arleigh Burke or Zumwalt. So before you claim other people are embarrassing themselves try to get your facts straight. The only way I would be embarrassing myself is to respond to your trolling.

@Klendathue HO-LY SHEEEEEEIT, kid! We already have several classes of ships that carry and deploy both RIBS and Helos. Are you aware that ships travel over the ocean to far away places every day, and that RIBS and Helos still work when far away from America because the principles of physics work there as well? Please....please do not speak again until you stop and think first. That was really, tremendously embarrassing for you.

@kenfo0 How do you expect to use our Helos and zodiacs on the other side of the world. These Pirates are operating in the Gulf of Aden, and neither Somalia, Eritrea, or Yemen will give us permission to base anti-piracy missions in their territory. Therefore we need a floating base. And yes, these $450 million dollar ships are being used, but then the LCS class will be used for many other missions in the future. We should get 20-30 years out of these assets, if not more.

absolutely. in order to beat down some africans in rowboats armed with aks, we certainly need at least 20, $1billion ships. Or....now bear with me because this is going to sound crazy....maybe, JUST maybe we could use the equipment we already have, like helos and zodiacs. Hmmm...I see your point. How would the super rich make more money off that....yeeeeeessssssss.
