This is probably from 1968. Jymie Merritt began using the Ampeg Baby Bass around then, and used it on an album with Roach called "Members, Don't Get Weary".

Contrary to the Jazz orthodoxy...I view Roy Haynes in his musical prime a superior drummer to Roach.I caught Roach live circa '85 featuring Odean Pope. I was less than inspired with Roach's playing.

Max's brush technique is simply unmatched. One of the best jazz greats ever

Terrific band... except for Odean Pope. He is hysterically sharp and plays like a high school kid. Sorry... he does. Cowell is amazing.
