@geezerdombroadcast Hello, Bonjour, Saluton.. Could you spare just a few hours to look at Esperanto ? Then you could make an informed choice.. Would you like a few suggestions of sites ? All the best, Cion bonan. marguer1te.

@marguer1te "ESPERANTO; are you kidding???" I can barley understand my own language sometimes. I wish I could speak Esperanto though. That would be cool.I wish every person on the planet could communicate with each other in one languge. I think we would probably kill each other less often. That would be nice.

Travel vids done with poetry are always nice. Recorded as a voice over then mixed with natural sounds and or music (also recored seperately) never from the camera mic NO NO That's where the free sound effects down loaded on line come in.This world desperately needs poetry. That may sound old fassioned but it isn't. Poetry is how we embark on journeies of discovery and break new gound. It is the language of new things. It is the code that we break through experience to find they new way forward.

Ah Ha. Money comes from what people desperately need; poetic comedy;and the nuances of intellectual travel. Lonely planet for example. No one ever accused them of not making a buck. I will admit they have a PBS/ BBC budget; but they still put out a fantastic product in terms of their comentary.Youth oriented; but apeals to geezers as well. No shortage of market share for high quality travel videos done with an edge. Ask Anthony Bordain. Buget means less than imagination "Forgoten art the fool."!

@geezerdombroadcast Hi again you old geezer, now I know where you are coming from and your comments mean even more. I hope you have found my web site listing all 800 of my travel movies, many of which have scripted narration! tourvideos (dot) com Most of my early narrations were made up on the fly as I viewed the final cut, which has the natural advantage of sounding spontaneous. Now I often follow a loose script. Combining both approaches is the goal. Show me the money

@denniscallan You know the image of the grouchy, bossy director on the set of a 1930s movie? That's me. I had a very harsh professor in college when I was studying directing. It's like a hard nose football coach they demand a lot to make you better. Making videos of high quality is hard work. Don't get discouraged. It's pretty hard to beat Walter Cronkite, or David Attenborough at narrating. Paying for high quality symphonic music is a worthwhile investment. There's good money in travel videos.

@geezerdombroadcast I must admit you have nailed me -- it is the most accurate critique ever heard about my programs, and I do agree with you. You have found me out -- my little secret -- most of my narration has been background fluff to fill the air while I focus mostly on presenting the visuals, because really, for a lot of these places, what can you say? However, in recent years I have been using a script I carefully write, and now have 800 pages to read you if you like.

Lovely pictures ; but the narration is the quality of a 1950s home movie. You could use a little imagination, write a script perhaps. People want some intellectual observation about the scenery maybe a little poetry. You're not talking to grandma and aunt Millie. Read some great literature some poetry some Shakespeare. Thanks for sharing

To EvilcyclopS - Why did you write "wrong" ? Should it not be "wrongly" ? Why not use the inter-national language Esperanto ? So logical, phonetic, no exceptions ...Lovely travelogue, thank you.

Does anyone know if the cable car ride is covered with the Swiss Pass? Or does it cost extra? |
